rukeiNge kab talak jazbaat-e-barham, ham bhi dekheiNge
chalo yuuN hi sahii ye jaur-e-paiham, ham bhi dekheiNge

dar-e-zindaaN se dekheiN ya urooj-e-daar se dekheiN
tumheiN ruswaa sar-e-baazaar-e-aalam ham bhi dekheiNge
zaraa dam lo ma’aal-e-shaukat-e-jam ham bhi dekheiNge

ba-zom-e-quwwat-e-faulaad-o-aahan dekh lo tum bhii
ba-faiz-e-jazbaa-e-iimaan-e-mohkam ham bhi dekheiNge
jabeen-e-kaj-kulaahii Khaak par Kham ham bhi dekheiNge

mukaafaat-e-amal taareeKh-e-insaaN kii rawaayat hai
karoge kab talak naawak faraaham ham bhi dekheiNge
kahaaN tak hai tumhaare zulm meiN dam ham bhi dekheiNge

ye hangaam-e-widaa-e-shab hai aie zulmat ke farzando

aawaaz-e-aadam = man’s voice
jazbaat-e-barham = anxious emotions
jaur-e-paiham = continuous atrocities
dar-e-zindaaN = from prison’s door
urooj-e-daar = from the gallows
ruswaa = insult
sar-e-baazaar-e-aalam = in the middle of world’s market
ma’aal-e-shaukat-e-jam = Jam’s might and end (Jam here could indicate intolerable, king)
ba-zom-e-quwwat-e-faulaad-o-aahan = the might of iron
ba-faiz-e-jazba-e-iimaan-e-mohkam = the grace of strong will and faith
jabeen-e-kaj-kulaahi = the head (forehead) of kings

phir usi waadi-e-shaadaab meiN lauT aayaa houN
jismeiN pinhaaN mire KhwaaboN ki tarabgaaheiN haiN
mere ahbaab ke saamaan-e-ta’ayyush ke liye
shauKh seene haiN, jawaaN jism, haseeN baaheiN haiN

sabz khetoN meiN ye dubki hui dosheezaaeiN
inki shiryaanoN meiN kis kis ka lahoo jaarii hai
kis meiN jurrat hai ki is raaz ki tash_heer kare
sab ke lab par mirii haibat ka fusuuN taarii hai

haaye vo garm-o-dilaavez ubalte seene
jinse ham satwat-e-aabaa ka silaa lete haiN
jaane in marmariiN jismoN ko ye mariyal dahqaaN
kaise in teerah gharoNdoN meiN janam dete haiN

ye lahakte hue paude, ye damakte hue khet
pahle ajdaad ki jaageer thii, ab mere haiN
ye charaagaah, ye rewaR ye maweshi ye kisaan
sab-ke-sab mere haiN, sab mere haiN, sab mere haiN!

inki mehnat bhi mirii, haasil-e-mehnat bhi miraa
inke baazu bhi mire, quwwat-e-baazu bhi mirii
maiN KhadawaNd houN is wus’at-e-be-paayaaN kaa
mauj-e-aariz bhi mirii, nakhat-e-gesuu bhi mirii

maiN un ajdaad ka betaa houN jinhoN ne paiham
ajnabii qaum ke saaye ki himaayat kii hai
Ghadr ki saa’at-e-naapaak se lekar ab tak
har kaRe waqt meiN sarkaar kii Khidmat kii hai

Khaak par reiNgne waale ye fasurdaa DhaaNche
inki nazreiN kabhii talwaar banii haiN na baneiN
inki Ghairat pe har ik haath jhapaT saktaa hai
inke abruu kii kamaaneiN na tanii haiN na taneiN

haaye ye shaam, ye jharne, ye shafaq kii laalii
maiN in aasoodaa fazaaoN meiN zaraa jhoom na louN
wo dabe paaNv udhar kaun chalii jaatii hai
baRh ke us shauKh ke tarshe hue lab choom na louN!

kaise maGhroor shahanshaahoN ki taskiiN ke liye
saal-ha-saal haseenaaoN ke baazaar lage
kaise bahkii hui nazroN ke ta’ayyush ke liye
surKh mahloN meiN jawaaN jismoN ke ambaar lage
kaise har shaaKh se muNh-baNd mahakti kaliyaaN
noch lii jaatii thiiN taz’iin-e-haram kii Khaatir
aur murjha ke bhi aazaad na ho saktii thiiN
zill-e-subhaan  kii ulfat ke bharam kii Khaatir
kaise ik fard ke hoNToN ki zaraa sii jumbish
sard kar saktii thii be-laus wafaaoN ke chiraaGh
looT saktii thii damakte hue haathoN ka suhaag

itna Khaamosh hai, faryaad-kunaaN ho jaise

tu meri jaan! mujhe hairat-o-hasrat se na dekh

tu mujhe chhoR ke Thukraa ke bhi jaa sakti hai
