SAHIR WISE

O heart!
Why won’t you bear with,
Why tear?
Those heartless
Of love unknowing
Why holds you them dear?

Who ever did bind
The rising setting life’s sun?
Who could yet watch
Over splendour’s run?
Why yet hold on to beauty?
Why makes you even the try?

Regard that as a kind act
by whichever measure one stands by
Birth and death’s play is a dream
Let go of this dream
None would ever along side die!
