As a matter of fact, the original nazm, entitled “mataa-e-Ghair” is completely different from the sung version, which in his own way, Sahir “de-persianized” or used simpler language for the masses. Here’s the link for the original nazm:

Your belief is correct and incorrect; correct because Talat did sing a different version of this song and incorrect because the wordings of Talat’s version are different.
