Khaaka-e-hayaat = the drawing (map) of life
munhamik = absorbed, engaged
fikr-e-kaainaat = thoughts, worries of world
harf-e-haq = the truthful letter, letter of truth

Khamosh magar taba’a Khudaaraa nahiiN hoti

ma’moora-e-ehsaas meiN hai Hashr sa barpaa
insaan ki tazleel gavaaraa nahiiN hoti

naalaa houN maiN be-daari-e-ehsaas ke haathoN
duniyaa mire afkaar ki duniyaa nahiiN hoti!

begaanaa sifat jaada-e-manzil se guzar jaa
har cheez sazaa-vaar nazaaraa nahiiN hoti

fitrat ki mashiiyat bhi baRi cheez hai lekin
fitrat kabhii be-bas ka sahaaraa nahiiN hoti!

quvvat-e-guftaar = power of speech
mahboos = confused
taba’ = disposition
ma’mooraa-e-ehsaas = in the city of emotions (in my emotions)
Hashr = tumult
tazleel = degradation, humiliation
naalaaN = sad
bedaari-e-ehsaas = alertness of my thoughts, emotions
afkaar = thoughts
sifat = attribute, praise, quality
jaada-e-manzil = the road leading to the goal
sazaavaar = deserving

muhabbat bhii tijaarat ho gayii hai is zamaane meN
agar ye raaz duniyaa ko bataa dete to kyaa hotaa

terii ummiid par jiine se haasil kuch nahiiN lekin
agar yuuNhii na dil ko aasaraa dete to kyaa hotaa
